Selection to the post of Assistant in Central Vigilance Commission (CVC) is made through the Combined Graduate Level (CGL) Exam conducted by the Staff Selection Commission (SSC).

In the 6th CPC he was entitled for the Grade Pay of Rs 4,600. Now in the 7th CPC he is entitled for the Basic Pay Rs 44,900 and comes under the level 7 of the following Pay Matrix Table.

NATURE OF WORK OF ASSISTANT IN CENTRAL VIGILANCE COMMISSION (CVC)

Like other assistant posts; e.g. Assistant Section Officer (ASO) of the Central Secretariat Services (CSS), Assistant Section Officer (ASO) of Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), Indian Railways, Armed Forces Head Quarters (AFHQ), etc, you would be required to perform a lot of clerical tasks, but he is much above an LDC.
