CGLE POSTS & PHYSICAL DISABILITIES PERMISSIBLE

Many a time it happens that aspirants of an exam [here Combined Graduate Level (CGL) Exam] do not know well what types of physical disabilities are permissible for which posts, and therefore they are seen filling wrong post preferences. And hence they have to loose their one precious year as their candidature is rejected on this very ground in the event of final selection of the post or at any other stage.

Also there are chances of not getting reservation benefits well because of that. Therefore, they are advised to go through the following link well before filling their examination application.

Candidates, therefore,  are advised to make sure before opting for any post that they fulfill all the requirements for that post. Colourblindeness suitability or unsuitability, the physical measurements (including vision test) for candidates will be conducted by the concerned indenting departments and only those candidates who fulfill the specified physical measurements will be eligible for the respective posts.

No request from candidates for allotting to any other service/category of post will be entertained by the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) if the nominated candidates fail to meet the physical requirements including the status of colourblindness.

Thus, the onus of fulfilling the eligibility criteria will exclusively be on the candidates opting for such posts.

      Sir,
I Follow your articles daily,I never miss Your articles.
I’m preparing for ssc cgl 2015 .I have some doubts regarding post preference and Experience certificate.

      1) As I’m slim personality,I would like to apply for examiner, excise inspector….where physical test is required.I will try to build up my body by going to gym and doing exercises. What my doubt is, if I fail in physical test, will they consider for next preference posts, whichever I have opted.

      2) If I fail the physical test, will they consider me for next preference posts

3)I have eye sight of ( -7.5) in both eyes,am I eligible for Inspector posts like Examiner,Excise,ITI.These are my top 3 preferances

      4) I’m 2012 pass out.Due to some health problems and some other reasons I have not employed until 2015 february. And other reason is, I was preparing for compitative exams. I have cleared 2014 ssc cgl tier 1,but not cleared tier 2.Recently I got job in a private company.joined 1 month back.Shall I mention that I was doing job, in SSC application form,If I mention ,during joining process will they ask NOC from the company,If my company doesnt give NOC means then what I want to do.Can I join without giving NOC from my company.
      5) If I donot mention the experience while applying means, will there be any problem in the interview questions like what you been doing uptonow

      1. In CBEC (EXAMINER, PREVENTIVE OFFICER, EXCISE INSPECTOR) the PET is merely a formality, only the required height should be there. So nothing to worry here, everybody passes quite easily. In other CGL posts I can’t say how this goes. But the rule is if you fail to pass the PET you can’t be considered for any type of posts.

      2. Read my reply at point number 1.

      3. I can’t say what ‘-7.5) means, but if your sight is good after wearing specs you have no problem in any CGL post.

      4. NOC is required from the working central govt employees only, that too when the candidate is seeking age relaxation, so forget the NOC and enjoy yourself. Here are rules on NOC

If your eye sight is fine after wearing specs it’s no problem in CBEC. You are not eligible in CBI and NIA. CBN is no problem if after specs your sight is ok. You do not come under VH. Thanks!

    Respected sir,
I have qualified for interview post in ssc cgl 2014. And my interview is on 16th june.
Sir I have one eye with correct vision and other eye with low vision. So please sir suggest me the posts Which I should opt for and which I should not while filling the post preference at the time of interview.
    Thanks and Regards

Consult your doctor to get your eye-sight checked after wearing specs. If it’s 6/6 & 6/9 you are eligible for all posts of CGL. If your vision is less than that and fairly fine you are eligible for posts of CGL except than CBI and NIA. If you are colourblind make your query again.

  5. June 4, 2015 at 9:36 PM

    Respected sir,
I have left eye vision 6/6 with or without specs and right eye vision 6/60 with specs. I have got this checkup done at AIIMS NEW DELHI.
Sir I have no colour blindness.
I am confused which posts Ishould opt for and which I should not while filling preference for. On your suggestion I had filed an RTI too in CBEC and CBDT department but they refused to provide information and they have suggested me to go to first Appellete authority.
So now I am totally confused about which posts I should opt for and which posts should be left out.
Dear sir please suggest me the posts prefrrence.
    THANKS AND REGARDS

Then Am I eligible for the all inspector posts and other interview and non interview posts?
    Thanks and Regards
