What for is the Common Screening Test in SSC?

The Common Screening Test (CST) is just to make a list of candidates aspiring various posts given in the advertisement. They are several posts. Each post may have different procedure of selection. So it cannot be said what the future course of action will be there for that post. The score of CST has to be valid for 2 years. This test is there so that a candidate may not have to take different examinations.

It’s separate from open exams like CGLE, CHSL, STENO EXAM, CPO EXAM, etc.
