FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQ)SSCSSC EXAM RULES

HOW POST & STATE/ZONE IS ALLOCATED IN SSC

Criterion of allotting a post & state/zone allocation in SSC exams

QUERY: Sir, plz tell me on what basis a post and the state is allocated to the selected candidates through the exams conducted by the Staff Selection Commission.

REPLY: 1. Once a candidate selected through an exam conducted by the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has been allotted his first available post preference, he will not be considered for the other options he chose. In other words one is considered for his 1st preference first, then the next preference and so on.

2. States/Place of Posting these days are not allocated by the Staff Selection Commission (SSC), rather they are allocated by the user departments themselves according to the policy prevailing there. For example CBDT, CBIC/CBEC, CAG ask preferences for all the zones. Some of the departments do not ask for the state preferences and allot states according to their policies.
