GRADE-II DASS, though not a CGL post, I’m giving here its job profile as it’s considered to be a very hot post. It’s conducted by DSSSB (Delhi Subordinate Services Selection Board). This post is equivalent to inspectors/assistants post in the central govt (recruited through the Combined Graduate Level (CGL) Exam). It’s a 4600 GP post (Level 07 of the Pay Matrix i.e. Rs 44900-142400).

He can be sent/posted in any Delhi govt office/department say education, health, food and supply, sales tax, state excise, etc. His name of designation varies from department to department. In education he is called HEAD CLERK, in food and supply, excise, etc he is called INSPECTOR. The job nature is same type that is for inspectors and assistants in the central govt.

If one wants Delhi only, it’s surely better than CGL posts. Otherwise on the equal footing. Once as DANICS, his designations are sales tax officer, assistant director of education, SDM etc that again vary from department to department. But not EXECUTIVE MAGISTRATE as this is a JUDGE in a court of law.

PROMOTIONS IN GRASE-II DASS

First promotion is generally within 7-8 years. The next promotion in almost 10 years after the first one. After promotion he becomes superintendent, FSO (food and supply officer), tehsildar, etc. The title of the post varies from department to department. On these posts he is called CLASS-B GAZETTED.

After the second promotion he is called DANICS (Delhi Andaman Nicobar Civil Services). Means he can be sent to Andaman Islands also; in fact to any union territories. But tenure there is not too long generally and is back in Delhi again after a short span, say 2 years. Remember before DANICS he can’t be posted out of Delhi in any circumstances. DANICS is a CLASS-A GAZETTED post.

The term D.A.N.I.C.S refers to the “Delhi, Andaman Nicobar Island Civil Services”, which is a service in India, mainly administering Delhi and the Union territories of India.

One can also be recruited as DANICS directly; through the CIVIL SERVICES EXAM (IAS EXAM).

NOTE-I: It being Group-C service, the age relaxation for employees serving for 3 years continuously in Govt. of NCT of Delhi/its local or autonomous bodies is 40 years for this post.

NOTE-II: This post is identified suitable for PH (OL, OA, BL, OAL, B.LV, HH) candidate as per requisition of user department.
