LIC ASSISTANT ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER (AAO) JOB PROFILE

Post of LIC ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER is usually recruited once in two years. It’s a 6 day week with half Saturday there. Proposal for 5 day week is pending with the finance ministry for approval and it’s highly likely that it will be approved shortly. You will get 24 casual leave on this post. In addition there are 33 privilege leaves and 30 medical leaves.

TRAINING LIC ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER (AAO)

Training period for LIC ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER is 9 months This training has two parts. First 6 months are for classroom training and next 3 months for practical training.

POSTINGS LIC ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER (AAO)

After the training the first posting is in Life Insurance Corporation branch offices which are mostly situated at District headquarters and Tehsil Headquarters. LIC has 8 Zone, 113 divisions, 2048 branches. After training your first posting will be in home Zone and 99% in your home state. As Administrative Officer (AAO) you will remain in branch office. After the promotion on the Administrative Officer (AO) post you will remain either at a branch office or at a divisional office. On the post of ADM and above ADM you will be posted in a Divisional or a Zonal offices only.

TRANSFERS LIC ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER (AAO)

For the first 2.5 to 3 years you’ll remain at your place of posting and on completion of 3 years you will definitely be transferred to your desired place at your Home Branch. Transfers before 3 years are also available for special cases like on spousal base, on parents health base, etc. One person can remain in same branch for maximum 4 years then you will be transferred to nearby branch.

MD And Chairman is Govt of India’s post, it depends on your approach.

JOB NATURE LIC ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER (AAO)

1. ADMINISTRATIVE SIDE
After training you will be posted in a branch office. There are 6 department in a branch office:

1. I.E (Policy Servicing Department): AAO here works on issues related to policies like change of address, surrender of policy, revival of policy, loan on policy. There is adequate work pressure here. Public dealing is from 10 to 4.

2. Claims Department: Public dealing, handles work related to payments to policy holder i.e. death claim, maturity claim. Workload is adequate here.

3. Accounts Department: No public dealing, validation of vouchers and preparing monthly account statement, no work load at all.

4. IT Department: No public dealing. separate AC chamber, full masti.

5. Office Services: No public dealing, handles work related to employees like preparation of salary, leave records, increment, bill settlement and other miscellaneous expenditure related to branch premises, adventures work.

6. New Business Department: Deals with agents only, typing work, adequate work on 15th and 30th of a month.

AAO will be the head of one of above said department with 2-3 subordinates (record clerk, assistant, higher grade assistant) or he will work under an AO (head of department).

2. MARKETING SIDE
An AAO can opt for marketing assignment after the completion of 2 years of job and you will be called ABM (ASSISTANT BRANCH MANAGER) here.  Little bit pressure of marketing here. Here you will get additional benefits such as a personal CAR with maximum price of 7 lakh, the mileage of the car is counted at around 7-8 thousands per month, living accommodation for sure. The marketing hierarchy is:

• BM/ABM 7 lakh
• Manager Sales/MM 9 lakh
• SDM/ ZM/MD/CHAIRMAN 12-15 lakh
