Person, persons, people, Peoples (EXPLAINED IN HINDI)

1. PERSON

a) Rajeev is such a nice person.
b) She’s a person I have a lot of respect for.

2. PERSONS

a) Any person or persons found in possession of illegal substances will be prosecuted.

c) There are two persons being questioned for the murder of Rahul.
d) The Police Department has seventeen open missing persons cases.
e) No more than six persons can occupy the hot tub at any one time.

Six persons came dressed as either Princess Dona or Darth Vader, but the rest of the people were all cartoons.

= Six people came dressed as either Princess Dona or Darth Vader, but the rest of the people  were all cartoons.

 3. PEOPLE

INCORRECT: I saw three persons standing on the corner.
CORRECT: I saw three people standing on the corner.

INCORRECT: Mahesh and Poonam are such nice persons.
CORRECT: Mahesh and Poonam are such nice people.

a) People are generally very selfish.
b) Three people were interviewed for the job, but only one person had the right qualifications and experience.
c) We’ve invited30 people to our party.

4. PEOPLES

a) The Israeli and Palestinian peoples have long been at war.
b) The peoples of the world practice a wide variety of religions.
