Answer: C
Explanation: Option ‘C’. Direct Speech में दिया गया वाक्य persuasion है; कोई order/request नहीं. PERSUADE = किसी से कोई कार्य करवाने के लिए उसको राजी करना; उसको वो कार्य कराने के लिए यकीन देना. इस वाक्य में अध्यापक मुझे यकीन दिलवा रहा है कि उसको ये अच्छा लगेगा कि मैं अपने doubts करने के लिए ना हिचकिचाऊं.
2. She yelled, “Please help me.”
Answer: D
Explanation: Option ‘D’. YELL = गुस्से में, उत्तेजना में, डर के कारण अथवा पीड़ा में चिल्लाते हुए कुछ कहना. व्यक्तियों के लिए YELL के साथ preposition AT का use किया जाता है; और व्यक्तियों के अतरिक्त दूसरी nouns के लिए YELL के साथ कोई और उपयुक्त preposition use किया जाता है; जैसे
a) He yelled at me furiously.
b) She yelled at the boy to get down from the wall.

NOTE: अज्ञात अविशिष्ट व्यक्तियों (unknown unspecific persons) के लिए pronoun ONE का use होता है; और अज्ञात निश्चित व्यक्तियों (unknown specific persons) के लिए pronoun SOMEONE का use होता है. स्पष्ट है कि इस वाक्य में SOMEONE का use होगा.

Answer: D
Explanation: Option ‘D’. Option ‘A’ अशुद्ध है क्योंकि Direct Speech का sentence Imperative Sentence है; बल्कि ये एक type-I conditional sentence है. Type-I Conditional Sentences का tense ऐसे ही change होता है जैसा कि अन्य sentences का; जैसे
She said, “If you work hard you’ll pass the exam.”
= She said if she worked hard she would pass the exam.
4. The Principal asked me whether I had informed the Chief Guest the revised schedule the day before.

Explanation: Option ‘D’. दिया गया वाक्य Indirect Speech में है; और इसमें time expression THE DAY BEFORE का use किया गया है. Direct Speech में जाकर ये YESTERDAY में बदला जाता है. लेकिन word YESTERDAY दो options ‘C’ और ‘D’ में दिया हुआ है. हम ये भी जानते हैं कि Present Perfect Tense और Past Simple Tense दोनों Past Perfect Tense में बदल जाते हैं; परन्तु word YESTERDAY को Present Perfect Tense के साथ use नहीं किया जा सकता. अतः option ‘D’ शुद्ध है और option ‘C’ अशुद्ध.

Answer: C
Explanation: Option ‘C’. Command, Order, Advice, आदि जैसे words के बाद कोई noun/pronoun दी गयी हो तो इन words के बाद में कोई adverb use नहीं की जा सकती. अत adverb STERNLY को verb COMMANDED के पहले रखा जाएगा.
7. The Principal told us, “Wait here till I return.”
Answer: B
Explanation: Option ‘B’. Verb TELL का use किसी को कुछ करने के लिए कहना के लिए भी use किया जा सकता है; अर्थात इसको Imperative Sentences की रिपोर्टिंग के लिए भी use किया जा सकता है.
8. The queen said to her son, “You must go to the forest and remain there till your father calls you back.”
Answer: A
Explanation: Option ‘A’. Direct Speech के दिए गये वाक्य MUST एक modal verb है; ये modal verb GO और REMAIN दोनों ही के लिए है. ध्यान रहे कि यदि दो या अधिक verbs के लिए एक ही modal verb की आवश्यकता होती है तो उस modal verb को repeat नहीं किया जाता है; और किसी भी modal verb के साथ main verb की हमेशा first form ही use होती है. अतः verb REMAIN का tense change नहीं किया जाएगा. और इसी कारण से option ‘B’ अशुद्ध भी है. Option ‘C’ इसलिए अशुद्ध है क्योंकि इसमें verb CALLS को Past Simple Tense; अर्थात CALLED में बदला जाना चाहिए था.

Explanation: Option ‘A’. विस्मयादिबोधक शब्द BRAVO को ‘shout with applause’ अथवा ‘applaud + object + saying’ में बदला जाता वही. Indirect Speech का एक और संभव वाक्य:
My father shouted with applause that I had done well.
APPLAUD = किसी के अच्छे कार्य के लिए उसकी प्रशंसा करना.
10. “I have seen the film before.” says Sunita.
Answer: B
Explanation: Option ‘B’. Direct Speech की verb (HAVE SEEN) का tense change नहीं होगा क्योंकि Reporting Verb की verb SAYS present tense में है.
