AUDITOR (CAG / CGDA) JOB PROFILE 

Selection to the posts of Auditor CAG and Auditor CGDA is made through the Combined Graduate Level (CGL) Exam conducted by the Staff Selection Commission (SSC).

In the 6th CPC he was entitled for the Grade Pay of Rs 2,800. Now in the 7th CPC he is entitled for the Basic Pay Rs 29,200 and comes under level 5 of the following Pay Matrix Table.

JOB DESCRIPTION OF AUDITOR IN CGA & CGDA

Auditor CAG and Auditor CGDA selected through the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) have to pass a confirmatory exam first to be confirmed. 3 years compulsory service at the post is the minimum qualifying period for the promotion to the next post of Sr Auditor; but subject to his confirmation. If a vacancy is not available promotion will take more than 3 years.

But an Auditor can also appear in the SAS Exam after two years of qualifying service at the post if he is confirmed. After passing the exam he becomes AAO (Assistant Audit Officer) which is a Group-B gazetted post in the pay-band 9,300-34,800 with grade pay of Rs 4,800. After becoming AAO in this way, means through promotion, he does not need to take any further exam.

In CAG the SAS exam has two stages namely
1. GROUP-I &
2. GROUP-II

In CGDA it has three stages namely
1. Preliminary
2. Part-I and
3. Part-II

If a person is already SAS (Subordinate Accounts Services), he is exempted from taking the preliminary stage of the exam.

The confirmatory exam for Auditor is just simple one and is with books; means he has to take it with books on the syllabus in his hands.

An Auditor can also to be asked to go on official tours sometimes which may run 10-15 days.

 

AGE LIMIT
Age limit in the Combined Graduate Level (CGL) Exam of the Staff Selection Commission for this post is 18-27 years.

NOTE: It being a Group-C service, a central govt employee serviing for 3 years continuously can take this exam up to 40 years for this post. For reserved categories add to it the usual age relaxation available to them.

    Sir which one is better among TA(CBDT) TA(CBEC) auditor(CAG) auditor(CGDA) with aspect of promotion chances.

      In low GP posts place of posting matters more, so decide it of your own. CBEC in the last.
