SSC CGL: What if one fails in the PHYSICAL TEST/PET for CBEC, CBI, NIA or CBN?

SSC CGL: What if one fails in the Physical Endurance Test (PET) for CBIC/CBEC, CBI, NIA or CBN? 

QUERY: If a candidate fails in the Physical Endurance Test (PET) for a post meant for CBIC/CBEC, CBI, NIA or CBN, will he be considered for any other post of the Combined Graduate Level (CGL) Exam?

REPLY: Some of the posts under the Combined Graduate Level Exam (CGLE) require the Physical Endurance Test (PET) to be cleared for selection to those post. The PET for all these posts is held after the final result of the Combined Graduate Level Exam (CGLE) by the respective departments to one is selected. If one fails to clear the PET ,one’s selection to the post is rejected. In such a case one can’t be considered for the selection to any other posts also. So candidates are advised to go through this well and know your eligibility for a particular posts/s beforehand.

Posts of the Combined Graduate Level (CGL) Exam for which the PET is required:

  1. Inspector Central Excise / GST
  2. Examiner
  3. Preventive Officer
  4. Inspector & SI in CBN
  5. SI in CBI
  6. SI in NIA
  7. Border Road organisation (BRO)

NOTE: Candidates are advised to make sure before opting for any category of post that they fulfill the requirements for that category. The physical measurements (including vision test) for candidates will be conducted by the concerned indenting departments and only those candidates who fulfill the specified physical measurements will be eligible for the respective posts. No request from candidates for allotting to any other service/category of post will be entertained by the Commission if the nominated candidates fail to meet the physical requirements. THUS, THE ONUS OF FULFILLING THE ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA WILL EXCLUSIVELY BE ON THE CANDIDATES OPTING FOR SUCH POSTS.
