If one skips DEST for TA or fails in it, will one be considered for other posts?

QUERY: If a person qualified for posts other than TA of the Combined Graduate Level (CGL) Exam of the Staff Selection Commission (SSC), and decides to skip the Data Entry Speed Test (DEST) for the post of Tax Assistant (TA) or fails to qualify that; will he be considered for other posts if opted for?

Of course if a person qualified for posts other that of Tax Assistant (TA) of the Combined Graduate Level (CGL) Exam of the Staff Selection Commission (SSC), and decides to skip the Data Entry Speed Test (DEST) for the post of Tax Assistant (TA) or fails to qualify that; he will be considered for other posts of the exam if opted for.
