TIME TAKEN TO LEARN STENOGRAPHY

TIME TAKEN TO LEARN STENOGRAPHY

QUERY: In what time stenography at 100 wpm and 80 wpm can be learnt separately?

Reply: Before you have an idea of the time taken to learn stenography you should know that the candidates will be given one dictation for 10 minutes in English/Hindi at the speed of 100 w.p.m. for the post of Stenographer Grade-C and 80 w.p.m. for the post of Stenographer Grade -D. The matter will have to be transcribed (typed back) on computer only. The transcription time is as follows:

1. For Stenographer Grade -D : 50 minutes ( English )
65 minutes ( Hindi )

2. For Stenographer Grade -C: 40 minutes ( English )
55 Minutes ( Hindi )

To learn stenography at the speed of 80 wpm a person normally takes one complete year, and at the speed of 100 wpm one takes two complete years at least. It’s almost impossible to learn stenography in less period than stated above. So aspirants are advised to keep above in mind if they want to be selected on the post of Stenographer.
