Afford (Explained in Hindi)

Verb AFFORD के साथ TO + V1 use की जाती है, ING FORM नहीं; जैसे

INCORRECT: My father can’t afford buying a car.
CORRECT: My father can’t afford to buy a car.

Advise (Explained in Hindi)

Verb ADVISE का जब कोई object दिया गया होता है तो इसके साथ ‘TO + V1’ का use किया जाता है; जब इसका कोई object नहीं दिया गया होता है तो इसके साथ ING FORM का use किया जाता है; जैसे

a) I advised her to see a doctor to get her eyes examined.
b) I would advise leaving very early. Then you’ll miss all the traffic.

INCORRECT: Nowadays many doctors advise people avoiding pollution as far as possible.
CORRECT: Nowadays many doctors advise people to avoid pollution as far as possible.

INCORRECT: Nowadays many doctors advise to avoid pollution as far as possible.
CORRECT: Nowadays many doctors advise avoiding pollution as far as possible.

Afford (Explained in English)

We say AFFORD + TO-INFINITIVE (not AFFORD + ING FORM)

INCORRECT: My father can’t afford buying a car.
CORRECT: My father can’t afford to buy a car.

Advise (Explained in English)

When the verb ADVISE has an object we use TO+V1; when it is without an object we use ING FORM; e.g.

a) I advised her to see a doctor to get her eyes examined.
b) I would advise leaving very early. Then you’ll miss all the traffic.
